Colleagues and Students,

I want to wish you a safe and happy weekend — and ask that all of us take time this Sunday to pause and reflect on the contributions of our nation’s veterans, current service members, and their families.

Those who sacrifice so much for our country and its freedoms deserve our unflagging respect and gratitude.

Here at Colorado State, we are enormously proud of our student veterans who have joined us following their tours in Iraq and Afghanistan — as we are of all our students, faculty, and staff who have stepped up to serve in both peacetime and war. We also join in reflection and mourning for those friends, family members, and comrades-in-arms who gave their lives to protect this country and its people. They are not forgotten.
