Colleagues,

As the world mourns those lost in the attack in Nice, we at CSU offer our support both to those directly impacted by this terrible tragedy and our Muslim students, faculty, and staff who are peaceful and integral members of our campus community and yet may feel afraid for their own safety at a time of global tension and division. In the face of the inflammatory rhetoric that surrounds terrorist attacks of any type, we — as a campus community — must disdain stereotyping and scapegoating and strive always to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all our people. Please reach out for support as needed, whether through the counseling resources offered through the Employee Assistance Program and the Student Health Network, to our Vice President for Diversity, International Programs, or directly to your colleagues, advisers, and peers. Our community is strongest when we stand together.
